Previously at Skyview Ranch, Scuba Camp on the island provides a one of a kind opportunity to go below the waves and experience Lake Erie and Patmos like never before! Camp Patmos and Skyview Ranch, with our partners at Columbus Scuba, a 5 star PADI Instructor Development Center, offers students a unique underwater experience, where trained and certified instructors will offer campers a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver certification. This certification is a lifetime certification and is included in the cost of the camp. 

There are three components to our open water certification courses: 

1. ACADEMICS – Campers learn the theory behind diving and the principles of scuba.

2. CONFINED WATER TRAINING – Campers will practice the actual sport of diving in the pool

3. OPEN WATER SESSIONS – Campers will spend time in Lake Erie OR Gilboa Quarry where they have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned and earn certification. If conditions are not ideal in Lake Erie, campers will spend time at the quarry located in Gilboa Quarry, (outside Findlay, Ohio)

Trained diving instructors will show campers how to safely use scuba equipment to example the world of the deep. Campers will get to enjoy a new appreciation of the 80% of God’s Creation that lies below the surface. Learn the necessary fundamentals of diving and legally dive, purchase equipment, buy air, board dive charts and dive resorts and continue your diving experience. The cost of camp includes camper’s books, PADI certification, equipment rental, dive tables, and all check out dives. 

Students will be led through daily bible study by pastors from Fellowship Baptist Church of Dublin, during Scuba Camp. 

***Accommodation for Scuba Camp, if at Gilboa Quarry, will be dorm style accommodations. 

*********Scuba Campers MUST pass a swim test at the beginning of camp to be able to continue in the scuba camp programming. Our Master Dive Instructor will make a call on whether or not they are a strong enough swimmer to continue in the Scuba Camp Certifications. If your camper does not pass the swim test, our staff will contact you about the next steps.
